The service department at Cashel Motor Works are offering a special price for both Anti Freeze and Brake Fluid changes. Get your Anti Freeze changed for €44.99 with a Brake Fluid change from €42.99. For some information on why you would change your Anti Freeze or Brake Fluid for winter driving see the information we have provided below:
Almost all cooling systems are engineered to use a blend of Ethylene Glycol-based antifreeze mixed with soft water. Anti-freeze is designed to prevent summer boil-overs and winter freeze-ups. Wait too long to change it, and used coolant can harm your system and not perform the way you expect. Several companies offer specially blended coolant packages engineered so they can simply be added to existing coolant already in your engine and radiator. But we recommend having your radiator flushed, with 100% new coolant added.
It is a good idea to have your brakes bled by a service technician at least every two years. The fresh fluid prevents rust and contamination from harming the master cylinder and brake caliper / wheel cylinders. If the two-year mark is going to happen mid-winter, go ahead and have them bled and the fluid enlaced before winter when there is greater friction on all parts of the car from cold starts. Winter is when you are more apt to deploy your anti-lock braking system (ABS). ABS can develop problems without your knowing it. If a wire breaks in the system, an ABS light will come on. But if the pump clogs up from lack of use, then the warning system won’t know it. By trying out the ABS several times in a safe environment like a big parking lot or a deserted road, you keep it from freezing up from disuse. By using the system, you circulate brake fluid that would normally just sit in the reservoir.
